Rule and Class Changes for the 2005 Season

End of Year AA Cash Awards

At all races that pay a cash purse there will be an extra $10 fee for AA-Expert riders. This money will go toward a Year End Award for the top 5 AA-Expert riders. Instead of the normal $25 entry fee at a Cash race, AA riders will pay $35 each. At the end of that race the normal $25 fee will be paid back to the top finishing AA riders for that race (as always). The additional $10 per rider will go into a year end award fund. The MHSC series will maintain that fund and pay it all back to the top 5 AA riders (ATV and M/C) at the end of the season.

Motorcycle C Class Advance

We have changed the advancement rule for the Motorcycle C classes. Normally the top 5 C riders advance to the B class. However, since we added another C class last year, we have spread out the competition, and have many more C riders this year. Only the Top 3 riders from each C class from 2004 must advance next year into a B class.

ATV Class Changes

There was a MAJOR re-structuring of ATV classes at this year's meeting. This was done to better align our attendance and riders with current machines. Some classes have stayed but, many have been shuffled or re-named. We will also increase the number of AA and A riders in those classes but, that does not take effect until the 2006 season. Below is a complete list of the 2005 ATV classes.

Motorcycle A-Sportsman Class

Last year we created the A-Sportsman class for all those that finished 26th through 40th overall. It was a volunteer class in 2004 with a sunset clause to become permanent in 2005. Well, since this was such a popular class in 2004, we let the sun set and this class is now mandatory in 2005. Therefore, all you motorcycle guys that finished 26th through 40th Overall MUST ride the A-Sportsman class nest year. Just like the A-Intermediate and AA-Expert classes, you must race the full season to point out of that class and go back to a B class. We have reserved your overall finishing number for you to use in 2005 if you so choose.
